Japan’s LNG spot price hit an eight-month high in October, according to data released by the Ministry of Economy Trade and Industry.

The spot price of LNG increased significantly over the past two months as demand from other large importers such as China and South Korea rose markedly.

Spot prices tend to rise at this time of year as demand for LNG increases ahead of winter.

The arrival-based spot price increased by $0.30/MMBtu month on month in October, to $6.10/MMBtu, which was a seven-month high.
