The number of rigs targeting gas in the Middle East stood at 97 in October as an uptick in drilling activity in Egypt and Saudi Arabia was cancelled out by a month-on-month drop in Pakistan. The number of rigs targeting gas in Egypt rose from three to five in October, while Saudi Arabia’s rig count rose to 57 – its highest level since October 2016. The number of rigs targeting gas fell from 11 to 10 in Pakistan and from 12 to 11 in Kuwait.
