Brazil’s Manati field sees output rise by 17.8% in Q3

Gas production from Brazil’s offshore Manati field increased by 17.8% in Q3 2017.

Gas production from Brazil’s offshore Manati field increased by 17.8% in Q3 2017 compared with the previous quarter, Platts reported on Wednesday.

The rise was attributed to increased demand from gas-to-power plants in the country’s northeast.

Manati produced 5.3 million cubic metres per day (MMcm/d) in Q3 2017, up from 4.5 MMcm/d in Q2 2017.

Output slumped at the field in 2015 and 2016 during Brazil’s recession.

Manati is Brazil’s largest non-associated gas field and lies off the coast of Salvador in the north of the country.
