Gas production from Brazil’s offshore Manati field increased by 17.8% in Q3 2017 compared with the previous quarter, Platts reported on Wednesday.
The rise was attributed to increased demand from gas-to-power plants in the country’s northeast.
Manati produced 5.3 million cubic metres per day (MMcm/d) in Q3 2017, up from 4.5 MMcm/d in Q2 2017.
Output slumped at the field in 2015 and 2016 during Brazil’s recession.
