ExxonMobil signed an agreement in Maputo on Tuesday formally recognising the United States-based supermajor as the midstream operator of the Offshore Area 4 gas block in northern Mozambique.
The agreement, signed alongside the other shareholders in the Area 4 consortium – Eni, China National Petroleum Corp., Kogas, Galp and Mozambican state oil company ENH – means the rest of the consortium has approved Eni and Exxon’s agreement to let the US company run the onshore gas liquefaction project, which was one of the conditions for Exxon’s...
