The Brazilian Senate approved Dirceu Cardoso Amorelli Junior as director of the country’s hydrocarbon agency, the ANP, on Tuesday.
He replaces Décio Oddone, who oversaw the country’s second and third pre-salt rounds, in which six of the eight blocks on offer were awarded.
Oddone told Interfax Natural Gas Daily in September that Brazil still lacked sufficient pipeline infrastructure to bring pre-salt gas to market.
