US rig count down again in early November

The United States rig count was down again for the week ending 3 November, according to oil services provider Baker Hughes.

The United States rig count was down again for the week ending 3 November, according to oil services provider Baker Hughes.

A total of 898 active oil and gas rigs were reported last week, down by 11 from the previous week and by 60 from the end of July.

The number of active gas rigs peaked at 1,606 in September 2008. The overall oil and gas rig count reached a high of 4,530 in 1981.
