The $3 billion Atlantic Sunrise pipeline has been hit by a temporary stop on works ordered by the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, local news has reported.
The stay was granted by the court following an emergency motion filed on 30 October by environmental groups opposing the project. Work will stop on the pipeline in Pennsylvania until the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission provides an environmental review on the “long-term impact and public need” of the project.
