PetroChina and Beijing Enterprises Group will each add two 160,000-cubic metre LNG storage tanks at the Tangshan LNG terminal in China’s Hebei province, doubling the facility’s storage capacity to 1.28 million cubic metres, Reuters reported on Monday.
The terminal will have the highest gas storage capacity of all PetroChina’s three LNG terminals once the four new tanks are complete by the end of 2019.
The three terminals currently have a combined receiving capacity of 19 mtpa, but their utilisation rates average 40%.
