Pennsylvanian gas production hits new high

Pennsylvania’s gas production increased in October to a new high of 425 million cubic metres per day – a 25% increase from October 2016 and an 80% increase from January 2013, the Energy Information Administration reported in its weekly update.

The state of Pennsylvania issued 1,371 gas drilling permits in 2016 and has issued 1,447 permits this year as of October 2017, based on data from oil services provider Baker Hughes.
