Sierra Club loses legal battle against three US LNG projects

A court in the United States has ruled against objections to three LNG export projects by environmental organisation the Sierra Club.

A court in the United States has ruled against objections to three LNG export projects by environmental organisation the Sierra Club.

The Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia on Wednesday upheld the Department of Energy’s (DOE) approval of the Dominion Energy’s Cove Point facility in Maryland, scheduled to start up this month; Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass facility in Louisiana, which started up in 2016; and Cheniere’s Corpus Christi project, due to open in 2018.
