Romania secures €50 mln EU loan for BRUA project

The European Fund for Strategic Investments has provided a €50 million loan to Romania’s state-owned Transgaz to finance a new gas pipeline.

The European Fund for Strategic Investments has provided a €50 million ($58.14 million) loan to Romania’s state-owned Transgaz to finance a new gas pipeline in the country as part of the BRUA gas corridor, the European Commission said on Friday.

The pipeline will run between Podişor and Recaș as a part of the planned gas pipeline from Bulgaria to Austria.

“The European Investment Bank is providing €50 million to Transgaz to build a new 478-km gas pipeline from Bulgaria to Austria via Romania and Hungary....
