The European Commission will unveil a new policy plan in early November for the transport sector that could boost the prospects for using natural gas and renewable fuels in road transport.

The commission is expected to release the European Action Plan on Alternative Fuels Infrastructure on 8 November, together with a proposal for tighter limits on carbon emissions from motor vehicles by 2030.
