China’s Keshen gas field, operated by Tarim Oilfield, is producing an average of 18 million cubic metres per day (MMcm/d), making it the most prolific gas producer for the PetroChina subsidiary, according to local media.
Keshen is a major source of gas for the first West-East Pipeline, which transports gas from Xinjiang to Shanghai.
It had 61 operational wells as of September.
Three new wells will be launched at the end of October that will boost Keshen’s output to 19.5 MMcm/d.
