Shell will buy electric vehicle charging provider NewMotion, the company said in a note on Thursday.

“We are developing the full raft of charge solutions required to support the future of EVs,” Matthew Tipper, Shell’s vice president for new fuels, commented in the note.

NewMotion has about 30,000 private electric charge points for homes and businesses in the Netherlands, Germany, France and the UK. Under the agreement, NewMotion will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Shell.
