The government of Tanzania has split its energy and mining ministry into two separate departments.

The government of Tanzania has split its energy and mining ministry into two separate departments, Reuters has reported.

President John Magufuli sacked the country’s energy minister five months ago and has appointed new ministers for the divided departments.

Medard Kalemani, the former deputy energy minister, is the new energy minister.

Angellah Kairuki, a lawyer and former deputy land minister, has been appointed as mining minister.
