LNG project developer NextDecade has signed agreements with Cameron county in Texas for its Rio Grande LNG export project.
In a news release, NextDecade said Cameron had agreed to “full abatement of county property taxes” for 10 years of operations. In return, NextDecade has committed to “maximize local hiring, significant payments-in-lieu-of-taxes, and funding for community projects”.
Rio Grande will create 6,000 direct jobs during its construction, more than 250 permanent jobs at the facility when it is operational, and more than 3,000 permanent indirect jobs...
