BP has six LNG vessels on order for Freeport LNG

BP has six LNG carriers on order from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in South Korea for its Freeport LNG project.

BP has six LNG carriers on order from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in South Korea for its Freeport LNG project in the United States, according to LNG World Shipping.

The ships will be delivered in 2018 and 2019 in time for the project’s startup. They will each have a capacity of 173,400 cubic metres. BP has a 17-year supply contract with Japan’s Tepco and a 20-year contract with Thailand’s PTT for its Freeport LNG cargoes.
