Mauritania expects four companies to bid to develop the upstream portion of its Banda gas-to-power project, a senior figure in the country’s energy ministry has told Interfax Natural Gas Daily.

“We invited some companies [to a meeting] in Paris and 12 attended; after that we continued talks with eight of them. Among the eight, I think we will have firm offers from four of them,” said Mamadou Amadou Kane, head of development for the Banda gas-to-power project.
