POL hits oil and gas in Punjab

Pakistan Oilfields Ltd has found significant deposits of oil and gas in Pakistan’s Punjab province.

Pakistan Oilfields Ltd (POL) has found significant deposits of oil and gas in Pakistan’s Punjab province that are estimated to increase the company’s hydrocarbon production by 25%, according to The Express Tribune.

The discovery was made in the Ikhlas block, with the Jhandial 1 well flowing at a rate of 2,520 barrels of oil and 595,000 cubic metres of gas per day when tested.

POL holds an 80% stake in the block, with Attock Oil Co. holding the remaining share.
