Commercial operations started on Monday at Chubu Electric’s new power plant in Nishi-Nagoya in Japan’s Aichi prefecture, according to LNG World News.

The 1.2 GW plant will be able to supply electricity to 400,000 homes and will replace a 40-year old facility in the region. GE supplied the turbines.
