Uniper refused ‘unsolicited’ takeover offer from Fortum

German energy company Uniper has rejected Finnish state-controlled Fortum’s attempt to acquire E.On’s 46.65% stake in the company.

German energy company Uniper has rejected Finnish state-controlled Fortum’s attempt to acquire E.On’s 46.65% stake in the company. Fortum made a voluntary public takeover offer to all Uniper shareholders of €22 ($26) in cash per Uniper share.

“Uniper is currently not in discussions with either Fortum or E.On in regard to the unsolicited and conditional transaction proposals described in their respective statements,” the company said.
