Bangladesh has 15.8 GW of power generation capacity but is unable to use it all because of gas shortages, according to Xinhua.
Power plants in Bangladesh generated 9.9 GW of electricity on Tuesday against a total demand of around 10 GW, an official at the Bangladesh Power Development Board told Xinhua.
This left around 6 GW of power capacity stranded because of gas shortages.
