US daily gas output to grow by 40 MMcm in 2017

The United States will be producing an estimated 2.09 billion cubic metres per day of gas on average by the end of 2017, a 39.65 million cubic metre per day (MMcm/d) increase from 2016, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) wrote in its latest Short Term Energy Outlook (STEO).

Output is expected to increase by 124.61 MMcm/d in 2018. The Henry Hub price averaged $2.90/MMBtu in August, down by $0.08/MMBtu from July.
