Scotland’s gas production up 3%

Oil and gas production in Scotland increased by 2.9% in the 2016-2017 financial year, to a total of 74.7 mtoe, according to oil and gas production statistics released on Thursday.

Scottish output accounted for 82% of the UK’s total, an increase from an 80% share in 2015-2016.

The approximate sales value of the oil and gas produced in Scotland in 2016-2017 was £17.5 billion ($23.1 billion), 15.2% higher than the previous year.
