Drax to convert two coal units to gas

UK power generator Drax advanced its plans to convert two of its remaining coal-fired power units to use gas by giving notice to the Planning Inspectorate on Thursday, the company said in a note.

The two units together would create up to 3.6 GW of new gas generation capacity, subject to a positive investment decision and the award of a 15-year capacity market contract.
