US DOE moves forward with fast-tracking LNG exports

The United States Department of Energy is moving forward on plans to expedite the licensing process for small-scale LNG export projects.

The United States Department of Energy (DOE) is moving forward on plans announced earlier this month to expedite the licensing process for small-scale LNG export projects.

Under the proposal, the DOE would grant all necessary export licences to small-scale projects immediately after their applications if they intend to export less than 1 mtpa, and if they do not require a review under the National Environmental Policy Act. The proposal covers inland projects only.
