Japan and Sri Lanka discuss building an LNG terminal

Japan has initiated talks with Sri Lanka over the development of an LNG terminal and power plant at the port of Trincomalee.

Japan has initiated talks with Sri Lanka over the development of an LNG terminal and power plant at the port of Trincomalee, according to the Sri Lankan Daily Mirror.

Although there are no concrete plans in place for the port, Sri Lanka is promoting Japanese private investment in the country.

Discussions have included the prospect of building an LNG terminal in conjunction with India.
