Global gas supply to peak by 2035 – DNV GL

The world's gas supply will peak by 2035, when gas will be the world’s single-largest source of energy, according to a DNV GL report

Norway’s DNV GL has forecast global gas supplies to peak by 2035 – at the same that gas will become the world’s single-largest source of energy – in its Oil & Gas Forecast to 2050, published on Tuesday. Energy from gas is expected to peak in 2035 at just below 160 exajoules. Oil is expected to peak around 2022, while global energy demand as a whole will do so in 2030 thanks to greater efficiency and electrification.
