Excelerate not giving up on Puerto Rican LNG terminal

The dire financial state of Puerto Rico's public utility means there is considerable scepticism the island's second LNG terminal will be built

Excelerate Energy, the would-be FSRU provider for Puerto Rico’s floundering floating LNG terminal, still sees a future for the project despite having cancelled its contract with bankrupt public utility PREPA. However, there is no clear timeline for the Aguirre Offshore Gasport (AOGP).  

Excelerate confirmed in late July that it had cancelled its contract for a 14.2 million cubic metre per day (MMcm/d) FSRU with PREPA, shortly after US federal officials placed the utility under bankruptcy protection. Puerto Rican authorities criticised both parties...
