Japan’s Kyushu Electric Power Co. and Kansai Electric Power Co. filed applications with the country’s Nuclear Regulation Authority for a pre-service inspection of the Genkai 3 reactor and Ohi 3 and 4 reactors respectively, according to the Japan Atomic Industrial Forum.
Genkai 3 is expected to be connected to the grid in January and will then undergo final stage of testing before it is brought into commercial operation in February 2018.
