Shell and Apex to explore new fields in Western Desert

Shell and Apex International Energy have signed deals with the Egyptian government to explore 16 new fields in the Western Desert.

Shell and United States-based Apex International Energy have signed deals with the Egyptian government to explore 16 new fields in the Western Desert, according to a statement from the Petroleum Ministry.

Shell will invest $35.5 million, while Apex will invest $45.9 million in total through two contracts, which will be the company’s first investment in the country.
