The United States Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has denied a request to revisit its approval of the Tennessee Gas Pipeline Project in northwestern Massachusetts.
"While the project would have long-term impacts to state protected forest, the effects of tree clearing would be lessened by environmental conditions placed on the project," FERC said.
Local protesters waited a year for the commission to make the decision and have now requested a rehearing, local news reported.
