NDRC to cut citygate prices for first time in two years

By Staff reporter 30 August 2017

China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) will cut citygate prices for non-residential gas by a flat rate of RMB 0.1/cm ($0.43/MMBtu) on 1 September, it announced on Wednesday.

The cut is the first in nearly two years, after the NDRC last reduced prices in November 2015.

It is a 5.5% reduction from the current average citygate price of RMB 1.8/cm.

The NDRC said the cut will reduce annual gas costs for non-residential users by RMB 7 billion ($1.1 billion).
