The Nigerian government launched its small-scale LNG trucking programme on Tuesday, Reuters reported.

Around 2.1 billion cubic metres of gas will be supplied to Greenville LNG’s Rumuji plant by Total Nigeria.

Gas will be sent to power plants in off-grid areas in northern Nigeria.

It was reported in July that Greenville was planning first gas in September, which would make it the first small-scale LNG plant in sub-Saharan Africa.
