FERC gives final approval to Nexus gas pipeline

By Staff reporter 29 August 2017

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has given final approval to the $2.1 billion Nexus gas pipeline, which will deliver 42.5 million cubic metres per day of gas from the Marcellus and Utica shale plays across 410 km of Ohio and southeastern Michigan into Ontario, Canada.

Protests by environmental groups had delayed construction. The pipeline is scheduled to become operational in 2018.
