Gas-focused drilling increased in Latin America during July, with 19 rigs drilling for gas in the region during the month

Gas-focused drilling increased in Latin America during July. Nineteen rigs were drilling for gas in the region during the month, according to Baker Hughes data. Argentina, Chile and Venezuela each added one rig during the month, while counts from all other countries remained unchanged.

Argentina’s government said earlier this month that it is removing obstacles to importing used rigs. Companies will be able to import used rigs and other equipment as long as the supplies are no more than 10 years old and are not available...
