Bolivia’s GDP grew by 3.34% in Q1 2017, according to local press.
However, Economy Minister Mario Guillen said reduced gas exports to Brazil affected the performance of the country’s hydrocarbon sector, which shrunk by 14.1%.
"In normal periods, Brazil demands 28-30 million cubic metres per day [MMcm/d] of Bolivian natural gas. At the beginning of this year, demand was cut to 16 MMcm/d. However, between July and August Brazil demanded up to 26 MMcm/d or even higher," Guillen said.
