Icebreaking LNG tanker completes first commercial voyage

The first icebreaking LNG tanker, the Christophe De Margerie, has completed its journey via the Northern Sea Route.

The first icebreaking LNG tanker, the Sovcomflot-owned Christophe De Margerie, which will serve the Yamal LNG project, has completed its journey via the Northern Sea Route (NSR) in 6.5 days, according to Your Oil and Gas News.

It is the first merchant vessel to travel the full length of the NSR without an icebreaker escort.
