United States-based Kosmos Energy has completed the drill stem test for its Greater Tortue development, which straddles Senegal and Mauritania, the company announced in an emailed statement.
The test was carried out on the Tortue 1 well and was completed by the Atwood Achiever drillship.
The well achieved a flow rate of approximately 1.7 million cubic metres per day (MMcm/d), and Kosmos said the test provides confidence the wells are capable of producing 5.7 MMcm/d of gas.
