Ukraine’s gas storage volumes over 14 bcm – minister

Ukraine’s underground gas storage inventories now exceed 14 billion cubic metres, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Maxim Belyavsky said on his Facebook page.

“The reserves have risen above the 14 bcm mark. One billion [cubic metres] has been injected in less than a month,” he wrote.

Belyavsky reported that inventories had topped 13 bcm on 29 July. The ministry wants 17 bcm of gas in storage by 1 November, but Ukrainian national oil and gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy believes 16 bcm – the amount that will be...
