Philippine Foreign Secretary Alan Cayetano has said oil and gas exploration in the Reed Bank in the South China Sea will remain on hold for some time, according to the Inquirer.
The government has not found a framework where it can legally justify joint exploration with China in the area that falls within the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone. China will not allow the Philippines to explore unilaterally in the region.
