Woodside makes gas discovery at offshore Burmese well

Woodside Energy has discovered gas at the Pyi Thit 1 exploration well in the Southern Rakhine Basin offshore Myanmar.

Australia’s Woodside Energy has discovered gas at the Pyi Thit 1 exploration well in the Southern Rakhine Basin offshore Myanmar, according to the Myanmar Times.

The well is in Block A6 and flowed at 1.42 million cubic metres per day over 44 hours when tested.

It is one of a number of discoveries Woodside has made in Myanmar following the successful Shwe Yee Htun 1 well, also in Block A6, and the Thalin 1A well, which is in Block AD7.
