Bangladesh produces draft plan for gas supply expansion

Bangladesh’s government has produced a draft plan to expand the country’s gas supply to 340 MMcm/d by 2041.

Bangladesh’s government has produced a draft plan to expand the country’s gas supply to 340 million cubic metres per day (MMcm/d) by 2041, according to the Dhaka Tribune.

The country currently faces a shortage of 77.88 MMcm/d of gas, with total demand estimated at 105.63 MMcm/d.

Despite this rapid growth in demand, the share of gas in Bangladesh’s power mix is expected to fall from 70% to 40% between now and 2041.
