Eni speeds up Bahr Essalam expansion

Eni has fast-tracked the development of the second phase of the Bahr Essalam gas field, demonstrating the resilience of Libya’s offshore sector. 

Mellitah Oil & Gas, a joint venture between Eni and Libya’s state-owned National Oil Corp. (NOC) had expected to produce first gas from Bahr Essalam’s second phase in Q2 2021. However, first gas is now scheduled for 2018, Eni said in a statement following a meeting between its chief executive and Libyan officials at the end of July.
