Gazprom boosts OPAL pipeline volumes after ban lifted

Russian major Gazprom has increased gas flows along the OPAL pipeline in Germany by more than one-quarter

Russian major Gazprom has increased gas flows along the OPAL pipeline in Germany by more than one-quarter, from an average of 59.1 million cubic metres per day (MMcm/d) on Tuesday to 71.7 MMcm/d on Wednesday, Russian newspaper Vedomosti reported on Thursday.

The report quoted data released by the operator of the pipeline, OPAL Gastransport.

The increase comes after the European Court of Justice on 21 July lifted a suspension of the European Commission’s decision to allow Gazprom to use additional OPAL capacity.
