Russia is looking to increase gas production in the far east of the country by nearly 150% by 2035, to 80 billion cubic metres per year, Energy Minister Alexander Novak said this week.

The main producing regions in the district are Sakhalin, Yakutia and Irkutsk.

Volumes from these areas will be used to feed the Power of Siberia gas pipeline, which is scheduled to start up in December 2019.
