United States President Donald Trump signed new sanctions against Russia into law on Wednesday that could inhibit the growth of Russia’s energy exports and potentially threaten energy security for EU member countries.
Trump was said to be against signing the law, which Congress had passed last week, Reuters reported.
“Trump criticised the measure as infringing on his powers to shape foreign policy, and said he could make ‘far better deals’ with governments than Congress can,” the report said.
