By Staff reporter 13 July 2017

China’s eastern coastal province of Zhejiang consumed 4.8 billion cubic metres of gas in the first half of 2017, up by 10% from the same period a year ago, according to the local authority.

The province’s pipeline grid supplied 4.1 bcm, up by 12.4%. City gas use reached 3.13 bcm, up by 25%, while gas-fired power demand was 1.5 bcm, down by 10% as a result of competition from electricity imported from western provinces.
