Pakistan to join top five LNG buyers by 2022 – minister

Pakistan’s Petroleum Minister Shahid Abbasi has predicted the country could become one of the world’s top five LNG buyers by 2022.

Pakistan’s Petroleum Minister Shahid Abbasi has predicted the country could become one of the world’s top five LNG buyers by 2022, according to Hellenic Shipping News.

Pakistan has ambitious plans to expand its LNG import capacity with four new terminals in addition to one terminal already under construction and anticipated to start up in Port Qasim by 2022.

Private companies are financing two of the terminals and will sell gas directly to customers in Pakistan.

There are around 10 million homes linked to the gas network...
