Sakhalin LNG exports to Asia down 8%

Russia’s Sakhalin 2 project exported just over 4.9 mt of LNG to the Asia Pacific region in the first half of 2017, a year-on-year drop of 8.2%, Sakhalin’s customs office told Interfax.

The total value of exported LNG was almost $1.4 billion, down by 21% on an annual basis.

Sakhalin 2 exported more than 10.8 mt of LNG in 2016, up by 13.2% from 2015, while the total value of exported gas fell by 37.5%, to just under $2.9 billion.
